It was time to say goodbye.

Urlacher announced his retirement Wednesday, ending a 13-year NFL career spent entirely with the Chicago Bears. Urlacher sounded like a man without regret as he discussed his decision on "The Rich Eisen Podcast."

"Honestly, I'm just not quite the same player I used to be," Urlacher said. "If I was the same player that I was three or four years ago, I think I'd still want to play, but I'm not. After I hurt my knee, I just haven't been able to do the same things I want to do. So, it's frustrating for me, and I don't want to do it anymore."

Urlacher acknowledged he might not have felt the same way had Lovie Smith not been fired following Chicago's 10-6 season in 2012.

"Someone asked me the other day, what if Lovie was still there, would you still want to play or do you think it would have gone differently?" Urlacher said. "I think yes, it would have. I think I'd still want to play. Because the desire to play for your head coach. I don't know the new coaches, but I know if Lovie was there, I'm pretty sure I'd still want to play football for him."

Urlacher reiterated that he didn't like the way the Bears handled his final contract negotiations -- he said there never were sincere talks -- while insisting he doesn't carry a grudge into retirement.

"I have no issue with the Bears," Urlacher said. "I'm happy with where I'm at right now. The decision I made was a good decision, I think so, and whatever happened between us put me in this spot. So I'm happy for that.

"I love the Bears. I'm always going to be a Bears fan. Nothing's going to change there."

Criminal charges against Sharper began being filed in 2014 in Arizona, California, and Louisiana, alleging he is a serial rapist. On January 17, 2014, Sharper was arrested in Los Angeles on two separate counts of sexual assault. The alleged incidents are said to have happened in October 2013 and January 2014. According to USA Today, the New Orleans Police Department indicated that it also was investigating an allegation of sexual assault which was filed September 24, 2013, against Sharper.

On February 14, 2014, Sharper was officially charged with two counts of rape by use of drugs and five related felony counts. Sharper was released on $200,000 bond, which at the request of the prosecution was raised to $1,000,000. Sharper has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Conditions of his bail include not to frequent any establishment that served alcohol as well as not to be alone with any women with whom he has not had a previous relationship prior to October 13, 2013, the date of his first alleged rape. Sharper could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of all counts.

Officials in Orleans Parish, Louisiana, filed two charges of aggravated rape against Sharper and another two counts against Erik Nunez, 26, on February 27, 2014, related to the alleged September 2013 incident in New Orleans. Investigators said a second woman came forward with a complaint following an initial report shortly after the alleged rape. Louisiana law states that a person convicted of committing aggravated rape shall be punished by life imprisonment at hard labor without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. On December 12, 2014 an Orleans Parish grand jury indicted Sharper on two counts of aggravated rape; if convicted, he could face a life sentence.On March 12, 2015, Sharper was charged with an additional sexual assault in Arizona.

On March 20, 2015, Sharper was charged with two sexual assault charges in Las Vegas involving two women in January 2014. Later on the same day, Sharper's lawyer said that Sharper had reached a plea agreement to resolve all of the charges against him, and would appear in court in Los Angeles on March 23 to enter guilty pleas. On March 23, Sharper plead guilty to sexual assault in Arizona and no contest in California to raping two women he knocked out with a potent sedative mixed with booze and was sentenced to 9 years in prison.

On March 24, 2015, Sharper received 9 years in a plea deal for all 9 charges against him, in addition to the year he has served already.

Warren Sapp paid $600 for oral sex, striptease from two prostitutes

The police report regarding Sapp’s arrest the day after the Super Bowl says the Hall of Famer told police he paid $600 for oral sex from two prostitutes, TMZ reports.

Sapp reportedly told police he met the women — both strippers — at the hotel bar and offered them $300 for a sex act. They went to his room and began dancing for him, and he supposedly threw $100 bills at them. One of the strippers was 23 while the other was 34. Sapp supposedly received oral sex from the 23-year-old and recorded it on his cellphone camera. The other woman reportedly hid in the bathroom to avoid the oral sex.

The 23-year-old asked Sapp for more money for intercourse, and he refused.

TMZ explains what happened next:

Sapp told cops he refused to pay more cash for sex — and says the woman became “irate” and spit in his face.
“At one point, she used Warren’s phone to call security to his room,” the report says.

The woman told cops she grabbed her stuff and was going to leave when Sapp grabbed her by the arms and threw her into the hallway … knocking her and the other woman down to the ground.

The woman reportedly grabbed Sapp’s cellphone to call security at one point. Though the 23-year-old acknowledged that what she was doing was wrong, it did not give Sapp the right to do what he did.

Sapp, fired by NFL Network after being accused of soliciting prostitution and then assaulting said prostitutes, is now accused of assaulting his long-time girlfriend (who apparently remained his girlfriend despite Sapp’s indiscretion with a pair of prostitutes). According to TMZ, Sapp has been charged with three counts of domestic violence following an April 28 incident at at Las Vegas resort.

Per TMZ, the police report alleges that Sapp: (1) throwing a margarita in her face”; (2) allegedly grabbing her “by the arm or purse and violently pulled on her . . . nearly taking her down to the ground”; (3) “biting her middle finger”; (4) throwing a belt at her; and (5) stepping on her face while wearing a pair of sandals.

Former NFL cornerback Will Allen is facing decades in prison after being indicted on 23 felony counts stemming from an alleged Ponzi scheme run by the 36-year-old and a co-conspirator.

Allen faces "12 counts of wire fraud, six counts of aggravated identity theft, one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and four counts of illegal monetary transactions," according to records obtained by Jeff Ostrowski of the Palm Beach Post. Each charge of wire fraud could result in a 20-year prison sentence, according to Ostrowski, with shorter sentences for the other felonies.
