| Christian Ponder’s Plane To London Flies Short, To The Left, Lands Incomplete In Greenland
NUUK, GREENLAND – Minnesota QB Christian Ponder, whose Vikings are scheduled to play this Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers in London’s Wembley Stadium, had his travel plans broken up yesterday when the Boeing 767 in which he was flying en route to Great Britain drifted short and to the left of its intended target, and eventually landed well out of bounds in the southwestern portion of Greenland.
“I knew Ponder’s plane was off-target the minute it went airborne,” said a member of the Minneapolis airport ground crew. “It wobbled off the runway like a wounded duck. You could see it had no zip, no velocity. It was clear that it was never going to hit its target.”
Added the crew member: “I think the problem has something to do with faulty mechanics.”
Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier expressed frustration with Ponder’s incomplete aerial attempt.
“Look, Christian knows he needs to do a better job of getting where we need him to be. And to be fair, he can only be successful in these attempts if he has support from the skill position guys around him. Which in this case would be, you know, the pilots and navigator who were actually flying the plane.”
While Ponder’s inability to touch down in his team’s desired ending zone was a setback for the Vikings, Frazier remained confident that his team would not suffer as a result.
“Lucky for us, Adrian Peterson used his own private jet to fly to the game, and he brought the starting receivers and linemen with him,” Frazier told reporters.” So if Christian continues to be off-target like this, at least I have Adrian to carry the rest of the offense.”  Edited by panoramixxx - 20/9/2019, 22:15
